Ghana: Police were recently called to a hospital that had been besieged by Jehovah’s Winesses objecting to a blood transfusion for a five-year-old boy.
The trouble erupted when Kwabena Afum and his wife Margret Afum brought their son Jepheth to New Edubiase Government Hospital. The boy was suffering anaemia and had lost lots of blood which needed urgent replacement, so they began a transfusion.

Afum and some fellow Jehovah Witnesses then besieged the room in a bid to prevent the team from carrying out their professional duties. The police were called to intervene, and Afum was arrested. He was later released on bail, paid by his church.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that it’s against God’s will to accept other people’s blood, or even their own blood after it has been stored. The Afums has since disowned the boy, who is currently in the care of the Social Welfare Department in the district.
I am a Jehovah's witness and the bible says whoever choose to save his life in this world will lose it in the next...meaning that that if that little boy has a good heart and listen's to Jehovah he will be blessed and enjoy an endless life...the parents were only doing what the bible says it says...abstain from blood...meaning we shouldn't have anything to do with it that means putting it inside our body's (but the blood that is in our bodies is what Jehovah has given us to live)...so i think that this is way out of line Jehovah's people seek to do what is right in the eyes of God not in the eyes of men...also one thing to bear in mind is that love never fails...
