Pastor Charged With Multiple Counts Of Fraud

Missouri: A former Southern Baptist pastor in Missouri has been indicted on charges of using his position to defraud church members into loaning him money that he did not repay.

A four-count federal indictment for mail fraud accuses Danny O'Guin, former pastor of Parker Road Baptist Church in Florissant, Mo., of using false pretenses to convince elderly church members to loan him money that he told them was to repair residences he owned out of the state.

Authorities say O'Guin, 62, stole thousands of dollars between June 2006 and March 2009 from church members who felt obliged to lend him money because he was in a position of religious authority. If convicted, each of the four counts carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.

  1. He was also pastor of Tower Grove Baptist Church and there were accusations of misuse of funds there. It was said that he spent the church building fund to totally remodel his son's office. His son was youth pastor. However the funds used did not match the work that was done. I never did trust that man when I was a memeber of that church..now I am a pagan.

  2. Poor judgement in spending funds does not mean that you are a thief. Just look at all of the money the government wastes. We need to always put our trust in Jesus. Sorry for your loss.

  3. There is a pastor at River City Baptist Church in Sacramento who is holding my Alzheimer's aunt hostage and brainwashed after his wife( a distant relative who got wind that she was not in her right mind and had her sign over power of attorney and milked her for a fortune). They will not let her only living sister know their address and have uprooted her four times now in 2 years. This is wrong.
