Rev. Alejandro Flores Pleads Guilty

Illinois: A priest accused of molesting a St. Charles boy pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to four years in prison on a charge of criminal sexual assault.

The Rev. Alejandro Flores, who until recently served at Holy Family Church in Shorewood, wiped away tears as he acknowledged his guilt to an empty Kane County courtroom. The judge allowed Flores to sit during the proceeding when he appeared to become physically ill.

Flores, 37, was charged in January with having sexual contact with a now-13-year-old boy over the last five years. Flores, who prosecutors said was often called "papa" by the victim, was also the boy's godfather.
