Warren Jeffs Prophesies Of Doom
"Right now, Warren is prophesying that the end is nigh, that the world's coming to an end at any moment," said Sam Brower, a Cedar City private investigator who has spent years probing the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "They're trying to live up to Warren's predictions and prophesies and trying to prove to him that they're obedient and that they're going to follow his instructions, do whatever he tells them."

Mormon Ponzi Scheme
Utah: FBI agents closed a prominent real estate management business here Thursday and began removing documents pertaining to the investigation of what the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission calls a “$220 million Ponzi scheme.”
The SEC claims Wendell and Allen Jacobson used their LDS Church membership to gain the trust of investors.
A statement by the SEC says Jacobson, and his son Allen, 33, “offer investors the opportunity to share ownership of large apartment communities in eight states," but instead "are merely pooling the money raised from investors into large bank accounts from which they are siphoning money to pay family expenses and the operating expenses of their various companies.”

The father and son “raised more than $220 million from approximately 225 investors through a complex web of entities under the umbrella of Management Solutions, Inc.,” the SEC alleges.

Rampant Bestiality In The Military
A great article from our friends @ defshepherd
Last week, the US Senate voted to repeal Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The repeal was part of a larger piece of legislation, the National Defense Authorization Act. Article 125 is an archaic statute which bars troops from engaging in consensual sodomy, and its repeal was tacked on to the defense act. However, since the article defines sodomy as "unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal," the nutjobs read this as the military condoning bestiality. Here's a reporter asking White House press secretary Jay Carney if the president approves or disapproves of sex with animals:
Then, Michelle Bachmann and Glenn Beck watched that video together on Beck's show.
And of course Bryan Fischer, of the American Family Association, had to add his two cents:

Church Enforcer
California: A California couple enlisted a brutish local enforcer to dish out a beating on their teenage son because they suspected the boy was smoking, authorities say.
Paul Kim 39, of Chino Hills, is facing felony child cruelty charges after cops say he hammered the unidentified high schooler about a dozen times with an inch-thick pipe at the boy's parents request.

Kim and the boy's parents attend the same Lutheran church in La Habra, and authorities believe he has doled out beatings for other parents.

Public School Holds Christian Rally
A public school in South Carolina flagrantly violated the Constitution recently by holding a christian themed assembly for students, on school property, during school hours.
On Sept. 1 this year, New Heights Middle School officials held an evangelical revival assembly intended to 'save' students by encouraging them to accept Jesus Christ into their hearts. The school-day assembly featured a minister who delivered a sermon, a Christian rapper (known as 'B-SHOC'), and church members who prayed with students. Students were urged to sign a pledge dedicating themselves to Christ.

On his own behalf and for his son, Jonathan Anderson sued the Chesterfield County School District and School Board, Superintendent John Williams and New Heights Middle School Principal Larry Stinson, in Federal Court.
Here's footage of the event, believed to be taken by the event's organizers.

David and April Weeks can't explain how they were able to low-crawl 30 feet to their front door — which is normally locked at 5:30 in the morning — and lay in the threshold of the doorway, in pitch black and be spotted by a passer-by.
